Tired tired tired
I’m always tired, as in sleepy, for a long time i thought I had some sort of vitamin deficiency but i think it’s just my sleep schedule. Regardless, I am now ESPECIALLY tired. I think waking up at 5 am every day to commute to my internship is taking it’s toll, and I’m really feeling the Sunday dread.
Being in the surgery unit last week fluctuated between being incredibly fun, interesting and passing fast, and being exhausting and slow at once. Some of the people working there were lovely, some made the experience too much.
My last shift we had a cat come in from intensive care with a corp. al. (Assumed furball) that needed removal. Whole hooking it up to the monitors and preparing intubation I noticed it was throwing up, and everything went into action very fast, we gave it an ng tube to empty the stomach contents, and it all felt very tense as we made sure it hadn’t aspirate the vomit. It turned out okay and the surgery proceeded, but took a while, it was indeed a furball blockage. We also had issues getting the EKG to work which wasn’t good and added to the stress, and required extra manual monitoring. I ended up leaving to go home before the surgery was over since I had already stayed an hour later than I was scheduled and wanted to head shopping before i commenced with my 2+ hour commute back home to my mom (where im staying during my internship).
As much as issues and complications suck its always a huge opportunity for learning, hence why I’m writing this down.
After my shift i went to the nerd book store and got a plushie, the bg3 coloring book, some cute socks and a new set of dice. I really shouldn’t be spending so much haha. All I want to keep doing next week is think about my DnD character and plan DnD stuff and keep coding my website. Really i just want to cry thinking about how I can’t. But I’ll get through it. Five more weeks then I get a break.
